We've all seen many acronyms become a part of our written and even spoken vocabulary. Even the most articulate among us has LOLed or shrieked an OMG every once in awhile. So too, do kids of a certain generation immediately recognize TWLOHA. For the uninitiated, it stands for "To Write Love on Her Arms".
The non-profit TWLOHA is "dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide." They do so with fundraisers and they directly support people through programs and treatment, but one of their major impacts can just be felt in their outreach. If you've been to Warped Tour or most major festivals, you've no doubt seen their campaign.
Tuesday they bring the Heavy and Light Tour to House of Blues to further that cause. By raising money and getting people talking about the mission of TWLOHA, perhaps the organization can continue to see positive results. Audiences will be thrilled by performances by Noah Gunderson, the band Now, Now, singer Christina Perri and Switchfoot's Jon Foreman. You can't go wrong with good music for a good cause.
