Sounds Like San Diego: January 28

All month long I have been telling you about the great residencies taking place at the Casbah and Soda Bar. This is the last Monday of the month and, though both bands will continue to play around town, this is a bit of a last hurrah to prove Mondays don't have to suck. I've been bouncing back and forth between both venues and each show offers up great support acts that make it impossible to pick a favorite. I might suggest, however, that Soda Bar edges out a little bit this time, but only because of its proximity to Eleven. The bar and club is undergoing ownership changes, will see a new name soon (the Void) and is billing acts under both bar names as the transition occcurs. They have an all electronic night which we haven't really seen on a Monday, so maybe new blood will shake things up a bit. Whatever you choose, Monday is looking quite alright.
