So maybe I'm a little bit biased, but to me, there is nobody who has done more to advance music in San Diego than Tim Mays. For 28 years, the Casbah has continued to set the bar for live music, and it's why bands and agents continue to come back to Tim years after they've outgrown the little spot on the corner of Kettner and Laurel. On Friday, the Casbah is throwing a big fat party with the Schizophonics Soul Revue, and it's a good chance to thank the club for always being there when we need a pick-me-up. If you can't get to over there, Matt Lamkin of the Soft Pack plays the Whistle Stop, Lydia Loveless brings her country/Americana sound to Soda Bar, and Plane Without a Pilot opens for the Atomics at the House of Blues.
