I was a bit surprised when I thought about how long I've been enjoying the Howls' music in San Diego, and tonight's release of their full-length album is a long time coming. Joined by Family Wagon, Jesse LaMonaca & the Dime Novels and Old Tiger, there is certainly going to be some whiskey swilling; I'd like to think the bands define a San Diego sound that we can all be proud of. This is not to overlook the Styletones CD release party over at Winston's, because they've come to be one of the most respected bands in town and will certainly bring a sweaty dance party to Ocean Beach. There are plenty of other great shows around town tonight, which is a shining example of just how much this great city has to offer.
