Sounds Like San Diego: January 17

Devotchka heads up a lively night of live music in San Diego on Sunday

I can't be 100 percent certain, but I can't find evidence that Devotchka has been to San Diego since 2012, which is enough reason for you to get online and grab a ticket to this hauntingly beautiful band. And even if I'm wrong, tomorrow is a holiday and they are a band not to be missed ever. Around town, you can catch Christian Death at Soda Bar -- definitely a name from the past that I didn't think we'd hear in 2016; and Death Eyes play a rare Sunday-night show at Whistle Stop. At the Casbah, Laura Jane struts her stuff with the Tighten Ups, and Tori Roze gets sultry at Sycamore Den.
