I know it's been pretty Casbah-centric around here -- even more so than usual -- but the anniversary month has certainly been quite exciting. This whole week at the venue has been sold out, with Thursday's X show no exception. The good news is that San Diego has strong venues with other great shows. A band that had a strong residency last year, Miner, returns to San Diego to perform at the Griffin. Be sure to get there early for the Janks, who are also pretty awesome. Soda Bar hosts Crooks on Tape, while the Hard Rock Hotel hosts Third Thursdays, with Grand Tarantula, Tiny Telephones and Wild Wild Wets. There are awesome options all over town, so perhaps we can kick off the holiday weekend a little bit early.
