As we near the end of the week -- and due to the sheer volume of bands playing on a Thursday night -- one thing is for certain: Thursday is the new Friday, so get out and enjoy yourselves.

Want some Kinks and Buzzcocks-influenced power-pop to get you going? Junior Metro, vocalist for now defunct Fifty on Their Heels, are playing at Tin Can Ale House. Feel like skanking like you did in the '80s? Grab your Creepers and bring your scooters down to the Casbah for Dave Hillyard and the Rock Steady 7. If you prefer a rock trio that is known as much for their activism as for their energetic live shows, head to the House of Blues for State Radio, joined by the Aggrolites, who are beloved by San Diego-ites.
