Sounds Like San Diego: January 13

It has been a while since I've been this excited about seeing a show at House of Blues. Nothing against the venue, and all credit due to all of the great artists I've seen there over time, but I say that because I'm just through the roof with excitement about the return of Keane. The band climbed the charts several years ago with its debut album, Hopes And Fears, in 2004. Keane toured and were fit to be on top of the music game, but after their follow-up record, subsequent tours were canceled for rehab reasons and other related issues. Though they continued to release records, the band hasn't returned to San Diego in years, so Sunday is just a really exciting night for Keane fans. The band will be joined by newcomers Youngblood Hawke.

Sunday, Jan. 13:

  • Keane, Youngblood Hawke @ House of Blues
  • An Evening with Steve Earle @ Belly Up
  • Jennifer O'Connor, Chris Brokaw, Ghost Come Back @ Soda Bar
  • Lord Howler, Breakhouse, the Pheasants @ Casbah
  • Happy Endings, featuring JoeMama and Tramlife @ Bar Pink
  • Sunday Matinee Show, with Gentleman, Lights in the Sky, Plane Without a Pilot solo set, Stereo Summer @ Eleven
  • The Lifted, Spider Heart, Kinetic Circus, Ninja Love @ Ruby Room
  • Reggae Sundays @ Spin Nightclub
  • O-B-Oke with Jose Sinatra @ Winston's
