Sounds Like San Diego: Feb. 9

Rachel Platten, Lil Wayne and others help SD party for Fat Tuesday

I know it looks like San Diego has been sucked up by the karaoke vortex, but there are definitely some fun shows around town that are worth catching. At Soda Bar, local rockers Philosopher's Ray Gun rule the night, while Halloran hosts his Tuesday at the Merrow. Lil Wayne makes an appearance at a rare Tuesday night at Fluxx, and Fink Bombs return for Tiki Tuesday at Bar Pink. Casbah has a pretty interesting night with Taking Back Tuesday, which is a tour based on a night that got super popular in L.A. and other cities as the crowd screams along to emo classics. It is Fat Tuesday, with your real Mardi Gras style music represented at Tio Leo's with Zydeco Patrol, but the show of the night is definitely Rachel Platten, who's probably best known for her firl power anthem, "Fight Song," at the Observtory.
