    Young the Giant

I have a bone to pick with you, San Diego. I know it's my job to be a cheerleader for the music scene, so perhaps you're reluctant to trust me and my musical recommendations. But honestly, I write about what I love and I want to turn you on to the good things. For example, a little over a year ago, I was telling you about this new band that was playing a weekly residency at the Casbah. I was practically begging you to come and, while certainly not empty, those shows could've sold better. Fast-forward to tonight, and that very same band, Young the Giant, is performing to a sold-out crowd at Soma. That's 2300 people who bought their tickets weeks ago, most of whom most certainly did not see them play to a meager few dozen people just a short time ago. Let that be a lesson to you. So now, when I tell you that you should go see Class Actress and Superhumanoids tonight at the Casbah, you know it's because they're awesome. And if they blow up, you can say you saw them when.
