I am super ready for the weekend, rain or shine, and San Diego has a ton of great shows to make you want to get out, too. The sweet sounds of The Staves will fill the Casbah, pleasing the sold-out crowd. My dear sweet, albeit lunatic friend, Steve Poltz celebrates his "8th annual 50th birthday" with two nights at the Belly Up, where he'll be joined by his old buddies from the Rugburns and plenty of other surprises. These always sell out, so if you can still grab a ticket, the sooner the better. The Irenic has a four band all-ager with Moose Blood headlining, so be there early to be able to see all of the bands. Mr. Pyles is still doing a monthly event at Hard Rock Hotel and Pleasure Fix headline that one, rapper Vince Staples returns to the Observatory North Park, and Soft Lions and Trouble in the Wind share the night at the Pour House in North County, where the shows are always free.
