On most occasions, I reserve this space to encourage you to participate in San Diego's live music nightlife. Today will be an exception. I mean, you already know if you're going to see DMX, Mat Kearney, the Nervous Wreckords, Grimes, the Fresh and Onlys or any of the many options on Saturday night. No, today I'm going to encourage you to wake up before noon and head over to the Jackie Robinson YMCA for the Celebrity Softball Tournament, raising money to revive the softball program at Gompers Prep. Since it's for charity, we'll let Tim Pyles of the Local Pyle and music photographer Dan Chusid get away with being identified as "celebrities" -- I'm also looking forward to seeing local musicians like Josh Damigo, Jeff Berkley and Lisa Sanders trade in guitars for bats, all for fun and charity. After the games, head to El Cajon Boulevard with two wheels and catch up with the semi-annual Bike the Boulevard fun ride and bar hop.
