    NEWSLETTERS

As a very serious music journalist (*cough*), it would be completely unprofesional to admit I sometimes have music crushes, but fortunately I'm neither serious nor a journalist, so I can say that when I see Lou Barlow, my heart skips a beat. He loves San Diego, and he especially loves the Casbah, and over the years he's graced the stage with Dinosaur Jr, as support for J Mascis' solo project, with Folk Implosion, solo, and like tonight, with Sebadoh. While perhaps more serious in his younger years, the legendary musician has an air of comfort, and it always translates to a solid performance with friendly audience interaction. The band reunited in 2007 after a 15-year hiatus, and this time around, they're supporting the re-releases of Bakesale and Harmacy.
