San Diego has seen the launch of many music careers. Blink-182, Jason Mraz and Switchfoot are all megastars who started here, and there are dozens of others who -- though they might not be selling out stadiums -- have been able to navigate the music world well enough to eke out a living and focus full-time on their passion. Thanks in large part to some great film and TV placements, Anya Marina has found success with her dreamy vocals and edgy rock melodies. She has lived in Portland, Ore., for several years now, but we always like to welcome her back home. You can do the same when she performs with Nena Anderson and Little White Teeth on Tuesday at the Casbah.
