I have tried very, very hard in my years of writing about music (and art and culture and beer) to avoid the dreaded "h" word. I think it is too easy and a sign of lazy writing if all you can say about a band or their fans is that they are "hipsters." But everything about Buke & Gase screams the "h" word. They're from Brooklyn. They're a guy/girl duo. They are both named "Aaron" but spell their names "Aron" and "Arone." They make their own instruments. So perhaps they deserve the hipster name. But the truth is that what Buke & Gase do is interesting and artistic -- and if that makes them hipsters, so be it. You should really check them out anyway. We don't judge.
