It's Fat Tuesday and though we're a long way from New Orleans, the Gaslamp Mardi Gras has always been a spectacle or spectacular, depending on your perspective. While both are valid -- the event is huge and draws thousands of revelers as well as top musical acts -- it is also quite overwhelming if you're crowd-averse or not savvy enough to get where you want to be within the grounds before the parade starts. For those of you partying New Orleans style, have a great time.
For the rest of you, pretend this is just another day with San Diego's vibrant music scene. He may not have taken home a GRAMMY, but Ed Sheeran has come a long way since his first local appearance where he had a three-song opening set for Snow Patrol. This Tuesday he'll play the gorgeous Spreckels Theatre which will certainly highlight the singer/songwriter's talent. Balboa Theatre will do the same for veteran musician Suzanne Vega. Up at the Belly Up, catch the Howls, or get skanking with the Oceanside Sound System at the Casbah. Whatever your liking, have fun and be safe out there because the goodness will just keep on coming and you're not going to want to miss a thing.
