Joel P West has been one of my favorite local musicians for a while now, and I have been watching him evolve with his band, even dropping his name from the group as the Tree Ring became a unit when it came to writing their latest, Generous Shadows. A special show tonight at the San Diego Women's Club is all-ages and celebrates the release -- fans will get a copy of the vinyl with their $20 ticket price.
Around town, the Rumble returns to Bar Pink after a two-month break and features Pitchfork-approved locals TV Girl and Dirty Gold. Over at Lestat's, Josh Damigo and the Midnight Pound will be recording their performance for a live EP that will be released in the near future. There are plenty of other options around town for every muscial preferance, so look through the listings thoroughly and make sure you get out to some of San Diego's many musical offerings.
