The middle of the week is here, which hopefully means you can coast through the remainder of the week, and the weekend will be here before you know it. There are some pretty cool shows to get you over the hump in the meantime. Nik Turner's Hawkwind returns to San Diego with a show at Til-Two Club. The 75-year-old musician and composer was a pioneer in space rock, and it will certainly be a thrill to see him on the patio. At the Belly Up, Los Straitjackets play for Nick Lowe's Holiday Revue, and local boys Taurus Authority appear at Bar Pink. PAPA is finally getting some traction on satellite radio, which means it won't be long before they're all over your local alt stations, so catch them while you can at the Casbah, and Fiction Plane -- fronted by Joe Sumner (son of Sting) -- perform at the House of Blues.
