Mario Escovedo gallantly leads "Los Maricones De Rock" on a journey through Rolling Stones tunes for Christmas Eve.
It has become a tradition that San Diego locals, perhaps still living locally or maybe living in other states, return home every year for Christmas. And as sure as the holiday is here, so too is "Exile On Kettner Boulevard". The night is a who's who of San Diego's past, present, and future, as everyone decends on the Casbah on Christmas Eve to hear "Los Maricones de Rock", lead by Mario Escovedo of The Dragons, perform amazing covers of The Rolling Stones. It isn't often that I'll endorse a cover band, but this night is always magical and those of us who make it always have a great time. The show is free, so after you do what you do on Christmas Eve, drop by the Casbah, even if just for a song or two, and indulge in the fun of talented musicians covering rock legends, and doing it so well you're forget it's just a cover band.
