Last week I was working at the Sword's show at Brick by Brick and, as the sold-out crowd emptied the venue, all they could talk about was how they'd be back in a week for High on Fire. The drone band elicits descriptors like "wall of sound" and "doom." With their latest, De Vermis Mysteriis, a complicated concept album about time travel, High on Fire promise to melt faces and destroy some eardrums. With Corrosion of Conformity on the lineup, this is a hesher's dream come true.
