Friday night is looking so good if you're a fan of music. The spectrum is so wide that no matter your taste, you'll probably find something to suit your fancy. Boy King and River City appear at the Whistle Stop for a free show so lack of money can't be your excuse, or you can catch former San Diegans TV Girl along with Blackbird Blackbird for a fuzzed-out night at Soda Bar. Guitar genius Jonny Lang performs at the Belly Up, while garage rockers the Growlers kick off a two-night stand at the Casbah. It might not be on your radar, but I hear that Metalachi is pretty amazing as they blend metal with mariachi music in the vein of Mariachi El Bronx, and another group of former San Diegans, the Soft Pack, return to town for a killer lineup at the Griffin. There are so many choices that, if you find yourself bored, you have nobody to blame but yourself.
