Sounds Like San Diego: Dec. 15

San Diego gets "lucky now" with Ryan Adams playing Symphony Hall on Monday

San Diego is full of great music almost all of the time, but every once in awhile, there's a particular show that you just have to see -- you buy tickets the minute they go on sale, then you wait months, living your life as usual, when finally the day comes. That's how it's been waiting for Ryan Adams' Symphony Hall show. There are probably a lot of superfans like me. My very first Casbah show ever was of Adams' band Whiskeytown. I've tried to see him every tour through San Diego, which frankly hasn't been many: there was a show at 4th & B, another at Balboa Theatre after "Ashes & Fire" was released, and maybe a couple others over the past 18 years or so. After his recent self-titled release, fans are overjoyed, and no doubt tonight's show is going to be something special. I'd suggest leaving your cameras at home, as he tends to have strict restrictions on cameras, recordings, and cell phone–use throughout his shows.
