It was almost two years ago that we were planning North By North Park, now known as San Diego Music Thing. Kevin Hellman asked if I knew of any L.A. bands that might play the festival, and two came to mind: Local Natives and Avi Buffalo. Local Natives had a prior commitment, but Avi ended up playing the street fair and blew minds. Shortly after the appearance, the band was signed to Subpop and has since toured extensively, including an opening slot for My Morning Jacket. Tonight, Avi Buffalo return to the Casbah and are not to be missed.
