The beginning of the week can be a struggle, but there are plenty of ways to escape and enjoy some music. All week I've been seeing posts from participants in this month's Under Cover at the Office, which features the music of Pearl Jam. I cannot wait to see Jesse LaMonaca, Ariel Levine, Anthony Swanson and others draw from their deep catalog. Meanwhile, local "death folk-country-psychedelic trio" Black Oak Hymnal play at Soda Bar, and my friend Jesse Nova plays Casbah. If you want to get out early, the Spreckels Organ celebrates its summer finale with a tribute to the Doors and a return of Carol Williams, who recently resigned her position. Mondays are sometimes a bummer but tonight doesn't have to be.
