There are shows for all kinds of music lovers on Wednesday in San Diego. Octagrape bring the noise at Whistle Stop for the monthly Commune, while singer/songwriter Jenn Grinels is back in town for a show at the Belly Up. Blck Owl keeps U-31 alive with an all-local showcase, and the Sleep Train Amphitheatre welcomes Panic! At the Disco, which is especially notable for openers Walk the Moon and Youngblood Hawke. And then Creedle, that awesome weirdo San Diego band from back in the day, get back together for a show at the Casbah. Even after all that, I'm most excited about Ottmar Liebert & Luna Negra. I know you didn't know I was into instrumental guitar picking, but I caught wind of one of his records nearly a decade ago and tried to keep up -- though he's known to put out a couple albums a year -- and I've only had the privilege of a live show once before. He's played sold-out back-to-back nights at the now-defunct Anthology for several years, so it's hopeful that the North Park Theatre can be just as comfortable and welcoming this evening and, perhaps, for years to come. There's no opener, just an evening with the band, and tickets are still available at the box office.
