Yesterday I told you that this weekend was jam-packed with things to do, and now you can see what I meant. Along with amazing bands performing Saturday, like Three Mile Pilot at the Belly Up, the Burning of Rome and Judgement Day at Soda Bar, and Alejandro Escovedo and Jesse Malin at the Griffin, there's plenty to do while the sun is out. One event specifically is near and dear to my heart. Amy Cole was a beautiful woman, a free spirit whose lif was lost suddenly in 2010. Her family and friends knew that it was important to carry on her love of the arts and music, and created a foundation in her name. Along with performances by Marie Haddad and Berkley Hart, Dustin Illingsworth created a record called Grief Is a Wilderness in her memory and will be performing songs from that album at this backyard house concert and BBQ. For those who knew and loved Amy, a party in celebration of her life and to benefit her charity is exactly what she would've hosted. All are welcome.
