CityBeat is celebrating 10 years of publishing in San Diego, and they're combining some of my favorite things in one party: live music, gourmet food tasting and the use of a non-traditional venue. This just might be the party of the year with a great lineup of bands headlined by Hills Like Elephants, who just took home the Best New Artist trophy at the San Diego Music Awards. This is going to be a really fun way to kick off your Friday night. You can follow up with Cuckoo Chaos and Tropical Popsicle at the Casbah, Hello Echo from L.A. over at Tin Can or another pop of Rafter over at Soda Bar. Just be sure to save some juice for Saturday because there are tons of events to keep the fun going all weekend long.
