For the past two weeks, Alberta Cross have been playing a residency at the Casbah. While originally scheduled to perform again tonight, the band is in Los Angeles tracking some music, so they'll pick up the last week of their residency next week. However, that gives you the opportunity to see Writer headline tonight. They've recently returned from a tour, and you know and I know that they always put on a great show. With Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter and El Monte Slim joining them, you still have a stellar lineup at the Casbah. Up at the Belly Up, get your funk on with Orgone and the Styletones, while Steve Martin (yes, the actor) brings his banjo stylings to Humphreys, and Mr. Steve Poltz plays a sold-out show at the Birch Aquarium.
