I hope you're all finally recovered from the San Diego Music Awards and Olympics overload. Perhaps Tuesday was a pass because you had too much fun over the weekend or on Monday night, but Wednesday should surely bring the masses out to a number of events. The Casbah hosts locals the Darrows for a laid-back night of fun, while Humphreys welcomes Dead Can Dance, who recently released their first album in over a decade. Anthemic rockers fun. have one of the most played songs of the year and are appearing at the Open Air Theatre at SDSU, while KPRI offers an amazing one-two punch with Heartless Bastards and the Dunwells, the latter being a band that at least a dozen trusted, music-loving friends have told me are a must see of the "next big thing" variety. Certainly you can get yourself out of a midweek funk with any of Wednesday's options and you'll certainly appreciate switching off the tube for some great tunes.
