In 2009 Josh Damigo walked away with the award for Best Local Recording at the San Diego Music Awards. In 2010, he won Best Acoustic category and is nominated for the same category in 2012.
There are plenty of great shows around town on Monday, but our bloggers will be celebrating in high style at the San Diego Music Awards. All year long we encourage participation in the great music that is born and bred right here in the place we call home, and this one night is a perfect chance to celebrate the great diversity and talent. It is also a great excuse to clink glasses (or plastic cups) with an event that is sometimes referred to as the rock & roll prom of San Diego. There are great performances lined up along with the numerous awards to be doled out. Will there be another Kanye-esque moment at the awards? Nobody can say for sure, but it will certainly be a great time and, as always, your ticket purchase benefits the San Diego Music Foundation which gives Taylor guitars to area schools, ensuring that we have great local music long into the future.
