As much fun as was had at the San Diego Music Awards, I feel like the rest of the week has, for the most part, been a total letdown. Sure, I saw some great shows, but life sometimes doesn't want to cooperate and things go awry. I had a show booked at the Ken Club, and due to circumstances out of the band's control, Dynamite Walls had to cancel their appearance. It's all good, though, because Jesse LaMonaca and the Dime Novels are picking up the slack, and with all of their studio time of late, they have some great new songs that will keep you entertained at the Ken Club, along with LA friends the Morgansterns. Down at the Casbah, recent SDMA Lifetime Achivement Award recipients the Penetrators take the stage, while Josh Damigo's Friends With Benefits show returns to Lestat's. Eleven continues their 1-year anniversary with a show by the SDMA-winning Donkeys, while Dudes and D/Wolves play on for the kids at the Che Cafe.
