Sounds Like San Diego: April 7

We never like to hear about a show cancellation, especially when it's due to hospitalization, but Sunday's Soda Bar performance by Jaymay has been canceled. Kayoko and Saba will still perform, however, and both are worthy of your ear holes. The good news is that, of course, there are always plenty of shows all over town for your entertainment. My recommendation is that you head down to the Casbah to catch Thao & the Get Down Stay Down. Thao has been touring for years and has come a long way since performing her first San Diego show on the House of Blues stage for an audience of seven. I was there, and while it was pretty incredible, it's always more fun to see her rile up her many devoted and well-earned fans. Be sure to get there early for the stylings of Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside and the full one-two punch of chicks who rock.
