Nico Vego headlines Saturday at the Lafayette Hotel.

Do you smell that? It's spring being sprung and festival season is upon us. Today, enjoy the San Diego sunshine as City Beat presents the Festival of Beers. Nico Vega, Hyena, and the Heavy Guilt will bake in the daytime sun while you quench your thirst for the best craft beers around. Just remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and you have to keep up the momentum for the great shows around town later in the night, including another set by the Heavy Guilt who are opening for Brooklyn's buzzy Rubblebucket at the Casbah, or the great lineup of Transfer, the Blackout Party, and Shake Before Us at the Belly Up. River City should be a great time at Bar Pink (and is just a quick walk, bike ride or bus fare away from the beer festival), and even the Ken Club has a solid lineup. Please note, however, that the Grant Lee Phillips show at Lestat's has been canceled and replaced by Fauxchella, featring Geezer and some School of Rock bands.
