It is never easy writing about a benefit. On the one hand, someone's hardship is shared with the public, but on the other hand, sometimes the best way to heal can be the coming together of your community. Candye Kane has been in the music business for many years, and while she is from San Diego, the woman tours all over the world and has been relentless, even when diagnosed with cancer. She fought and won the first time around and was cancer-free for three years, but unfortunately her cancer has returned. She's laid up in Cedars-Sinai fighting pancreatitis and awaiting surgery, so she won't be at her benefit, but what we know to be true is that the amount of talent and love coming together in her honor Monday night at the Belly Up is evidence of just how beloved Candye Kane is among the music community.
