I've only been to Coachella once, but I can assure you that with this stormy weather rolling through, you can bet I'm happy to be in my hometown this weekend, where I can catch great live music in the comforts of indoor venues. Tonight, the Rapture performs at the Irenic. While many people are unfamiliar with the venue, the show is nearly sold out. By day, the site is known as the Mission Gathering, so you can enjoy the paradox of seeing the Rapture in an old church. Beehive & the Barracudas open the show and promise a great night of music. And since the show will be over by around 11, you'll have time to see Coda Reactor at Eleven or check out Dragon Lounge at Kava Lounge. You're going to find several sold out or nearly sold out shows in the next week, so you might want to spend the day planning your week and buying tickets for some of the great shows coming through town.
