Richie Spice (Richell Bonner) opened his 35-minute set with “Marijuana” at the Tribute to the Reggae Legends event Monday at the Valley View Casino Center in the Midway District of San Diego.

Always in a pensive mood, Spice gave the crowd the strong roots and culture vibes they were craving, and performed his popular hits, including “Brown Skin,” “Youth Dem Cold” and “Guideon Boot.”

The humbled and surprisingly funny reggae artist spoke to SoundDiego about his upcoming album (to be released on VP Records), reggae music and Bob Marley.
