It's the middle of summer, the sun is shining bright, the temperatures have spiked -- and since we're in San Diego, every day is an ideal opportunity to hit the beach. Well, why not do it in style? On Aug. 25, join us for our next SoundDiego LIVE party at the 710 Beach Club in Pacific Beach!
For our 56th party (whoa!), we decided to celebrate summer's twilight with the party of the season -- featuring our latest and greatest SoundDiego TV reporter (and beloved social media star) Alysha Nett as the host, a couple of great San Diego bands and happy hour freebies for those who RSVP beforehand! Can't beat that.
So who do we have on-hand for our big shindig headliner? We thought you'd never ask. Get ready to crush all the positive vibes imaginable with world-music/reggae/rock stars Todo Mundo! The in-demand band will play a half-hour acoustic warm-up set and then a 90-minute electric set -- how cool is that?
The SDMA-winners actually played a SoundDiego LIVE party at the now-defunct Propagandist in the Gaslamp way back in 2012 as an opener for one-time Al Howard band the Black Sands, if you can believe that. But, hey, that was another time and Todo Mundo were just starting out on their musical journey. You could say we're more than just a little stoked that they're returning and taking their proper place as headliners.
If that weren't enough, we've also tapped 7 Seal Dub Band as the show's opener! The Shelltown group has been at it since 2006 and incorporates reggae, rock, calypso, dub, ska, funk and more into a style that promises something for everyone to groove to, and one that is unmistakably all their own. We've been fans for years and couldn't be more thrilled that they're onboard!
Of course, if you've ever been to one of our parties, you know that it wouldn't be complete without a craft-beer happy hour courtesy of our friends at Belching Beaver Brewery! And you'd also know that you've gotta RSVP beforehand in order to partake in all of those sudsy goodies, so get on it. The party starts at 8 p.m. and is subject to capacity, so be sure to show up early.
