Live at Lou's: Senator and the New Republic

Live at Lou's is an in-store music series hosted at Lou's Records, in Encinitas

Over the years, I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing Jack Johnson, Interpol, Flogging Molly and Face to Face at the independent record store, which opened in Cardiff, in 1980). On Wednesday, Live at Lou's welcomes Senator and the New Republic, from New York City. Led by singer/songwriter Adam Greenberg, Senator and the New Republic are influenced by "alcohol, late-nights and ex-girlfriends" (per their MySpace page).

With Greenberg's haunting vocals, Beatle-esque harmonies and passionate lyrics, Senator and the New Republic are a down-tempo, indie rock outfit featuring some of the best musicians in the NYC scene. In addition to their appearance at Lou's Records at 5 p.m., the band will be performing at Soda Bar in Normal Heights later in the evening.

Interested in sampling music from Senator and the New Republic? I highly recommend you stop by their MySpace page and check out the track "Betty Page." After one listen, it inspired me to make a special trip to see Adam Greenberg, Live at Lou's.
