San Diego Spin

It’s definitely feeling like winter time in San Diego. Bundle up and venture out this weekend, though, as there is plenty of fun in store, but be prepared to shed those layers once you hit the dance floor.

On Thursday night, Fluxx EDM brings you the Italian native artist, producer and DJ EDX. He first hit people’s radars back in 1994 with mix tapes that circulated around the globe within weeks. Then the producers came calling on his mad skills for remix action. Over the years, he has worked with the likes of Deadmau5, Laidback Luke, Kaskade, Funkagenda and Steve Angello, just to name a few. Don’t miss your chance to see him live, along with opening sets from Don Santino and Disco Pharaoh. Get ticket info here.

Friday night, join me for another Pussy Galore monthly music showcase at the Whistle Stop. Enjoy live performances from Misspent Warhead Premise and Echo Revolution. Plus, Terryn S and I will be spinning electro, indie, ‘80s and more throughout the night. As always, it’s free! For more info go here.

Saturday night I’m DJing at the Flame in Hillcrest for Club Sabbat. Drew Harlander will join me in the main room and Bloodline keeps it old school in the back room. Get your details via this link. Over at 4th & B, you can check out Sebastian Ingrosso -- one third of the DJ group Swedish House Mafia. Ingrosso is a Swedish DJ and producer of Italian descent who was born in South Africa but raised in Sweden, where he spent his youth learning to make music in his father’s studio. Ingrosso released his first remix in 1999 and has since been ranked No. 16 on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ List (in 2010). Alesso will be doing an opening set. Don’t forget: after-hours till 4a.m. Get your ticket details here.

Other Thursday through Saturday events are listed in my blog. Don’t worry, it’s only rain. You won’t melt. See you on the dance floor!

Robin Roth is a familiar voice in the San Diego scene.  She is on the air weekdays from 10am to 2pm on 91X, plus she promotes and spins all over town.  For more info about upcoming gigs, check out her event blog. Follow Robin on Twitter @robin_roth or submit your DJ listings here.
