At this point, Lil Jon’s larger-than-life persona has certainly preceded him. He’s been in the hip-hop game so long that many of his current fans were still in elementary school when he formed Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz in 1997.
The rap star may be trying out something new, though, when he heads to North County this week for Harrah’s Rincon San Diego Hotel's newly unveiled poolside attractions, Dive Dayclub. Dive’s biggest events of the summer are the Adult Swim Saturdays, which is where Lil Jon will headline on July 20.
It’s a wonder Lil Jon has been able to stay on top for the better part of two decades. Yet, how could he not, considering that he's been one of the most active names in the rap industry? It’s safe to say that producing and contributing to handfuls of Top 40 hits and landing a spot on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice hasn’t hurt his visibility, either.
Adult Swim Saturdays has paired up with production company Five Group to host top-tier entertainers at the Dive Dayclub every week through September. In true Vegas-style pool-party spirit, the events at the Valley Center site will also offer a taste of today’s hottest EDM DJs all summer long. That’s not all that's going down at Dive Dayclub in the coming months. Other parties in the works include Reggae Sundays and Service Industry Mondays.
Tickets for the Lil John party are $20; various other options are available, including round-trip shuttles from multiple sites around San Diego.
