Ask the Angels

Another San Diego weekend is upon us. Friday, if you don’t have a ticket for the sold-out 91X-clusive show with Jimmy Eat World, Iamdynamite and Reason to Rebel at House of Blues or the Sun God Festival at UCSD, there are plenty more events going on. The Burning of Rome headlines a night at the Casbah with support from Zero Zero, New Kinetics and Low Volts. El Puro Party invades El Camino in Little Italy with DJs Mike Delgado (Ese & Zain/Shark Attack), Patrick Heaney (Tiny Telephones/Shark Attack) and Adam Salter (Boys & Girls). At the newly remodeled Bluefoot Bar, it’s Groove Theory with resident DJ Joemama with special guest Memo & Rex. Plus, Innovation Weekend invades two locations this weekend: Spin Nightclub on Friday and the pool party event at the Palomar Hotel on Sunday. LED presents French DJ/producer Tristan Garner at Voyeur and you can get on the no-cover-before-10:30 p.m. list here. And don’t forget about F---in’ in the Bushes with your fix of Brit pop at the Whistle Stop.

Saturday, make your plans to attend the North Park Festival of Arts on University and 30th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Six stages with all kinds of local music and entertainment, including the main stage with Chess Wars, the Midnight Pine, Bulletins and the Palace Ballroom. Grab more info about the free event via this link. Hunt & Gather is having its Four Year Anniversary Party starting at 6 p.m. with DJs Lee Reynolds, Subtle Sound System and Ivano. Then the after-party is at El Dorado with PBR Streetgang, Lee Reynolds, Dazzla and Adam Salter. At the Whistle Stop, it’s ‘80s vs. ‘90s with DJs Saul and Gabe Vega. Plus, the One Year Anniversary of Diamond Dust with host MayStar, and at Spin you can check out Kill Frenzy.

On Sunday, another round of Intervention hits the Hard Rock Hotel with Quintino and an opening set by Gregori Klosman. Innovation Weekend continues at the Palomar Hotel. Plus, the Black Angels with special guests Hanni el Khatib and Wall of Death play at the Belly Up.

Remember, designated driver and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
