Catch Some Air(borne Toxic Event)

In between all of the Peeps and Easter goodies this weekend, make time for plenty of live shows and dance events.

Friday night, Living Colour invades the Belly Up, as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band’s legendary debut, Vivid, by playing the album in its entirety. Local boys Shake Before Us open the show, and you can grab more details here. Hills Like Elephants celebrate the release of their second full-length album, Feral Flocks, at Bar Pink, with support from Barbarian and Keith Sweaty. For more dancing, Fortune 421 takes over Quality Social with DJ/producer Jacques Renault and your ticket info is here.

On Saturday, Lovelife presents a daytime party at El Camino, starting at noon. The Wild West theme features Miguel Campbell. Opening will be Jon Dadon vs. Halo, Justin Baule and Kedd Cook. Celebrate the 15-year anniversary of Club Sabbat at Numb3rs in Hillcrest. I’ll be DJing in the front room with Diskdroid, while Liquid Grey keeps it dark and old school in the back room. Get more info here. Spin Nightclub features French DJ/producer Breakbot, plus Irfane, Colourvision, Tres Dubois, Third Twin and Stircrazy. At the Ruby Room, it’s the Midnight Pine, the Paragraphs, Second Cousins, the Darrows and DJ Man-Cat.

After the Easter egg hunts and your fill of Peeps on Sunday, venture out to one of these live shows: 91X presents the Airborne Toxic Event at House of Blues, and at the Casbah, it’s the Danish punk rock band Iceage, plus support from Milk Music and Plateaus.

Whatever you choose, make it a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
