    NEWSLETTERS

Fat Tuesday is just around the corner, but between now and then, there's plenty going on this weekend.

On Friday, it's Pussy Galore’s monthly night at the Whistle Stop. The Treaties’ CD Release Party is happening with support from the Lovebirds. Plus, I’ll be DJing with Terryn S throughout the night. Grab more details here. Other events around town include the underground hip-hop band People Under the Stairs at the Irenic. Ticket info is here. Elsewhere, LED presents Helena at Voyeur. She’s not just another pretty face. She is one of Australia’s most prominent DJs and electronic producers. Get on the no-cover-before-10:30 p.m. guest list here. At Analog downtown, it’s one of their biggest events so far featuring Minneapolis-based three-time multiplatinum-selling music producer and DJ Gigamesh. Funk Inc. and Brady Spear round out the lineup and you can get ticket info via this link.

On Saturday night, the Wailers are doing a sold-out show at the Belly Up, performing Bob Marley’s Survival in its entirety. This week marked what would have been Bob’s 68th birthday, so it’s especially fitting. Gram Rabbit, Hills Like Elephants, Privet and Midnight Pine play at the Casbah. Swim Party is doing a reunion show at Soda Bar. And for your dark underground fix, head to Numb3rs as Club Sabbat takes over both rooms. I’ll be hosting the event that features DJs John C (Bar Sinister/L.A.) and Drew Harlander in the front room plus Liquid Grey in the back room. Get more info here.

One of my picks for Sunday night is Big Freedia plus DJ Claire at the Casbah. Grab your tickets here. At the Hard Rock Hotel 207, Dirty Vegas headlines an EDM edition of Sunday School. More info via this link.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
