Freaks and geeks unite! Comic-Con is upon us and there are so many different events that it’s hard to keep track of them all. I highly recommend checking out this thorough listing courtesy of Eileen and the Mixster. It is a great source for all things Con-related happening through Sunday night. Even if you won’t be attending Comic-Con, you can still dress up and join in on the fun. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination, as San Diego is packed with locals and those in town just for the weekend. Here are just a few of the DJ/dance events going on over the next few days.

It’s a San Diego tradition during Comic-Con and even better that it falls on Friday the 13th this year: ZombieWalk. Afterward, maybe you’re one of the unlucky ones that get to attend the invite-only Con of the Dead party at Voyeur. Since that ends on the early side, spend the rest of your Friday the 13th celebrating Pussy Galore’s five-year Whistle Stop anniversary. Oh what fun we will have! Costumes are encouraged on this night. The New Kinetics and The Touchies will be performing live. Plus, Terryn S and I will spin a mix of indie, electro, Britpop, ‘80s and more. There’s no cover and you can grab info via this link.

Saturday night, “the claws come out” at Kitty Diamond as Club Sabbat presents Hello Kitty vs. Thundercats. It’s San Diego’s classiest gothic, industrial and fetish night with a twist hosted by Linda E. I’ll be DJing in the front room with Liquid Grey, and Diskdroid will be keeping things old school in the back room. For those dressed up in theme, there will be cash prizes for the best costumes. Get more info here.

Sunday funday at Wavehouse has Dada Life, Deth Hertz, No Body and Brazzabelle. Intervention features EC Twins plus Nadia Ali Live at the Hard Rock Hotel. Then it’s off to Voyeur with Dada Life and TJR for an 18-and-up party starting at 9 p.m.

More weekend events are here and I’ll see you on the dance floor!

Robin Roth is a familiar voice in the San Diego scene.  She is on the air weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 91X, plus she promotes and spins all over town. For more info about upcoming gigs, check out her event blog. Follow Robin on Twitter @robin_roth or submit your DJ listings here.
