DJ Steven Woods Back on the Air

iHeart San Diego hires Steven Woods as a jack of all trades

There have been some major shake-ups in San Diego radio as of late.

Among other moves, FM 949 shut down the Cantore + Woods morning show earlier this year, then Mighty 1090 subsequently hired Chris Cantore -- only to go off the air soon thereafter. It’s been a roller-coaster to say the least.

iHeart San Diego is giving Cantore's former partner-in-crime Steven Woods another crack at the microphone, though it has yet to be determined exactly what his role will be or which station.

"I’m really stoked to join iHeart Media and help their softball team achieve greatness," Woods said about signing on with the station group.

It's anticipated that Woods, who went on Rock 105.3 himself to make the announcement, will be an all-around fill-in guy for iHeart San Diego. It's no surprise given his expansive knowledge of all things radio.

This year, many of the changes on San Diego’s airwaves -- including Mike Halloran’s departure from 91x -- have been steeped in mystery. Amid all the turbulence, we wish Woods a stable and fruitful future at iHeart San Diego.
