We took a month off to regroup, but SoundDiego LIVE is coming back downtown on June 27!
Yep, that’s right: For our next Platinum Edition of our FREE live-music bash, we'll be busting out our hats and shot glasses right in the heart of downtown at the brand spankin' new Tin Roof -- at a party hosted by FM94/9's Tim Pyles!
You might be scratching your head and wondering who we tapped to headline this month's SoundDiego LIVE -- well, hold on to your boots, folks -- we're bringing in a big gun: Megan Ruger, star of NBC's The Voice. Originally from Wisconsin, Ruger began singing in local fairs and talent shows at the age of 7, and by the time she was 16, she was opening for national acts like ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rascal Flatts. She's currently working on her debut album -- and we can't wait to hear her blow the doors off the place with that outstanding "voice"!
The main support act is, of course, Cash'd Out! The Johnny Cash tribute band -- and multiple San Diego Music Award winners -- with local roots shares an uncanny similarity in sound (and looks) to the Man In Black and is sure to have the place line dancing in no time!
"If you never had the chance to see Johnny Cash, well then this is your chance!" host SoundDiego LIVE host Tim Pyles of FM 94/9 said. "This is the next best thing! Don't call it a tribute -- this is like being in the audience at Folsom Prison, except you can drink and hoot 'n' holler! The Man In Black is back and he brought June Carter with him. These guys have been doing this a long time at this point and, man, do they have it down! The band has about 150 of Johnny's songs in their repertoire, and if you close your eyes..."

"What can I say about Nancarrow?" Pyles enthused. "Dig deep and you'll find some cats that have been in the local music scene for many years; look at the frontman and you find Graham Nancarrow. Graham is a young man with an old soul. He found some pretty amazing guys to back him up, and what you get is good ol' country music. You know, the kind your grandpa liked -- like the original Hank Williams, not his son or grandson -- although Hank III is pretty badass!."
