Tell everyone we have the best burritos in the country -- I do! Did you know that is what local touring bands miss the most? The California Burrito! Lot's of great shows this month, so go see one! July 3: Rebecca Jade & the Cold Fact, Birdy Bardot, the Midnight Pine, Erik Canzona & the Narrows, Creature & the Woods at the Casbah -- it's the Redwoods Revue; they are a local record label.
July 4: Happy Independence Day, don't lose a finger!
July 5: Micky Dolenz at Sycuan Live & Up Close (El Cajon). "Hey, Hey, I'm a Monkey!"
July 6: Church Night and the Gorgeous Boyscouts at the Soda Bar; support local music!
July 7: Juan Wauters at the Hideout. Juan Wauters represents Queens, NYC and is the leader of the Beets.
July 8: Veruca Salt and Talk In Tongues at Soda Bar. Veruca is back with a new album and I can't wait to hear “Seether” live and in person!
July 9: The Aquabats and the Interrupters at House Of Blues, special Comic-Con show. It's a tradition now!
July 10: Prayers at the Hideout. Cholo-goth from San Diego, now working with Travis Barker of Blink-182.
July 11: Mr. Tube & The Flying Objects, Schizophonics, Madly, Badabing at the Casbah -- excellent all-local bill!
July 12: Trans Am, Sleeping People, CBOT And the Paperwork at the Casbah, ‘90s post-rockers Trans Am will provide you with the cerebral rock & roll sounds you need.
July 13: Chrome at the Casbah. Helios Creed fronts this legendary experimental rock and post-punk band.
July 14: Cayucas at the Casbah, indie pop band that used to be called Oregon Bike Trails.
July 15: Lincoln Durham at Soda Bar. From his Facebook page: “Obnoxious Southern-Gothic Psycho-Blues Revival-Punk One-Man-Band who does not play well with others.”
July 16: Dick Diver at Soda Bar. Aussie indie-pop rockers who don't eat shrimp off barbies.
July 17: Built to Spill, Slam Dunk, Genders at Belly Up. Who Da Ho? I Da Ho! That is where indie rockers Built To Spill are from: Boise, Idaho.
July 18: Magic Giant and Babe at Soda Bar. It's a night of folk revivalists.
July 19: Barenaked Ladies, Violent Femmes and Colin Hay at SDSU Open Air Theatre -- relive the ’80s and ’90s with these hit-makers!
July 20: Patrick Dennis, Oh, Spirit! and Little Dove at Casbah; an amazing all-local bill handpicked by me, TP.
July 21: Mavis Staples and Patty Griffin at Humphreys Concerts By the Bay; the Queen of Gospel!
July 22: The "Happy Together" Tour at Humphreys Concerts By the Bay
with the Turtles feat. Flo & Eddie, the Association, Mark Lindsay, the Grass Roots, the Buckinghams and the Cowsills; come on get happy and relive the 1960s!

July 24: Hamish Anderson at House Of Blues - Voodoo Stage. Rock, blues and folk from down under.
July 25: Pokey LaFarge, Quiet Life at the Casbah; country, blues and early jazz for the 21st century.
July 26: Northern American at the Merrow; purveyors of a vibe that may remind you of the ‘80s.
July 27: Jaz Coleman: “Letters from Cythera Spoken Word” Tour at the Casbah -- frontman for Killing Joke.
July 28: Melt Banana, Torche, Hot Nerds at the Casbah; might get loud, get ear plugs at the bar.
July 29: Rasputina at Soda Bar; cello-based band from NYC.
July 30: SoundDiego LIVE at the Soda Bar with the New Regime, Madly and Future Crooks, RSVP here.
July 31: Lucy's Fur Coat at the Casbah! ’90s San Diego rock legends return again! Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots stole moves from LFC’s lead singer Charlie Ware back in the day; it was from a show at Bodie's that Scott saw Charlie perform and shortly thereafter he was using similar moves.
Have a night out and go see a show! We need you to go see more live music and stop hanging out at craft beer bars. I kid (sort of). Please support local music and we can be best friends!
