I have included one show that should give you a giggle -- if it doesn't, then you have interesting taste in music. March 1: Andra Day at Observatory. The new funk/soul/R&B chanteuse who is taking the nation by storm, and she's from right here in SD.
March 2: Mutemath at House of Blues. Aussie indie-dance rockers get the floor moving.
March 3: Waxahatchee at the Irenic. A creek in Alabama and a band fronted by Katie Crutchfield that reflects the name of said creek.
March 4: Wavves, Best Coast at Observatory. A cute couple on tour together; I hear they just bought a house.
March 5: Lower Dens at Casbah. Shoegazing dreampop from Baltimore.
March 6: Johnny Marr at Belly Up. The dude was in the Smiths -- he's bonafied!
March 7: The Bulbs, Sledding With Tigers, William & the Nephews at Casbah. Support local music! I booked this show!
March 8: St. Lucia, Grace Mitchell at Observatory. A night of dreamy electronica mixed with R&B and grooves and pop.
March 9: Miner at Casbah. The LA folk rockers return!
March 10: Kitten at Casbah. The LA indie rockers return with a new album, "Heaven or Somewhere In Between."
March 11: Eleanor Friedberger, the Nephews, Icewater at the Hideout. She's a former Fiery Furnace!
March 12: Yanni at San Diego Civic Theatre. Wink wink, nudge nudge. You know what I mean?
March 13: Dengue Fever at Casbah. Cambodian psych pop, come check it out!
March 14: Soak at the Irenic. Not to be confused with San Diego's the Soaks, this guy is from Ireland.
March 15: Living Hour, the Lower 48 at Soda Bar. Psych dreampop and pop-rock night!
March 16: Electric Six at Casbah. Fire in the disco, fire in the Taco Bell!
March 17: St. Paddy's Day -- drink green beer!
March 18: UFO at Ramona Mainstage. English rock band that formed in 1969.
March 19: Quilt at the Hideout. Indie psych-rock from Boston.
March 20: The Dwarves, the Queers at Soda Bar. A night of punk rock with two classic bands!
March 21: Pins at Casbah. English rock band visits SD.
March 22: Ra Ra Riot, Pwr Bttm at the Irenic. Indie rock and don't-miss openers, a queer punk duo.
March 23: Wolfmother, Deap Vally at House of Blues. Rock & roll, 'nuff said!
March 24: Little Hurricane, Grizzly Business, Taken by Canadians at Music Box. RSVP to get in for free to the 50th SoundDiego LIVE party, hosted by Robin Roth, and partake in the Belching Beaver-hosted happy hour!
March 25: Sunflower Bean at the Che Cafe. The album "Human Ceremony" is great!
March 26: Swimm, the Verigolds, the Gloomies, Pearl Charles at Music Box. Do you feel me on this one? It's the Verigolds' record release party!
March 27: Rob Crow's Gloomy Place at Casbah. Pinback may be on the back burner, but this s--- is hot!
March 28: My Body Sings Electric at Casbah. Post-hardcore alt-rock from Denver.
March 29: Santigold at House of Blues. Electronic-rock/funk mishmash -- so good!
March 30: Bleached at Casbah. I love all-female bands!
March 31: Head Wound City at Casbah. This is hardcore!
