There's daytime shenanigans courtesy of the Saturday Round Up at the Shakedown, with Low Volts, Creature & the Woods, Los Apaches, Runson Willis and Jess Roberts. Plus, Wolfgang Gartner takes over Dive Day Club at Harrah’s; and it’s the first day of Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach. Later that night, Blackalicious headline at the Belly Up with guests Lifesavas and the Soul Rebels; Kill Holiday and I*Wish*I are at Soda Bar; Punk Rock Karaoke, the Widows and the Touchies are at the Casbah; the Mob (UK) headline at the Che Cafe; the US Air Guitar Air Guitar San Diego qualifier is at the Merrow; and Danyavaad is having their album-release party at the Fire Garden. Get your dance on with Club Sabbat at Numb3rs with a military-themed event featuring DJs Severin, Liquid Grey and yours truly. At El Dorado, Everyone DJs Everyone Cries features many of El D’s past DJs over the years for one last big party; Evian Christ takes over Bang Bang and Arty is at Bassmnt.
The Rock & Roll Marathon is Sunday, and there is an all-ages/free Finish Line Concert with Aloe Blacc at Petco Park. It’s also Day 2 of Fiesta del Sol featuring Mariachi El Bronx, Stranger and more; and you can get your pool party on at Intervention with Chuckie. Later that night, Pete Yorn plays a sold-out show at the Casbah.
