Marty Levin's Great Eight

San Diego news icon Marty Levin is set to retire from broadcasting in May. A fixture in local TV, Levin has been behind the desk (on/off) since 1977, arriving at KNSD/NBCSanDiego in 1987. My favorite lead anchor in local news, he is a consummate pro with a gift for ad-libbing.  Additionally, he has some solid taste in music.

As a guest on the KPRI early morning show with Robert and special guest Jennifer Armour on Wednesday, Levin discussed his career, the current media landscape and music.  An avid music fan, he shared eight of his favorite songs during the station's 8@8 music feature.  Here's his list :

1. Bruce Springsteen: "Rosalita (Won't You Come out Tonight)"

2. Crosby, Stills, and Nash: "Cathedral"

3.  Bobby Blue Bland: "Turn on Your Love Light"

4. Paul Simon and Phoebe Snow: "Gone at Last"

5. Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale: "Don't Cry Sister"

6. Dire Straits: "Romeo and Juliet"

7. Delbert Mclinton: "Givin It up for Your Love"

8. Billy Joel: "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant"
